The Siemens 6ES7322-1BH01-0AA0 is a 16-channel optically isolated digital output signal module (SM 322) designed for the SIMATIC S7-300 PLC family, engineered to switch 24 V DC actuators such as solenoid valves, contactors, and indicator lamps with high reliability. The 40mm wide card hosts 16 outputs rated at 0.5 A each, which are organized internally into two galvanically isolated groups of 8 channels, allowing a maximum total current load of 4.0 A per group or 8.0 A for the entire module. Powering the load side requires an external 24 V DC connection (permissible range 20.4 to 28.8 V DC), and the module features robust electronic short-circuit and overcurrent protection with a response threshold typically at 1.0 A, alongside integrated inductive voltage clamp protection at L+ (-53 V) to absorb back-EMF spikes during heavy inductive load shutdowns. It exhibits a typical power loss of 4.9 W and supports signal cable runs up to 1,000 meters shielded (600 meters unshielded). Requiring a standard 20-pin front connector for field wiring, this module has reached "Product Cancellation" status but remains an essential legacy spare part that is easily configured and diagnosed within standard STEP 7 or TIA Portal projects.
